Ghana’s Lands Minister Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah has officially joined the Bar, marking the culmination of a decades-long personal ambition. The ceremony took place at the Ghana Bar Association, where Buah was among 1,568 lawyers sworn in.
Buah, who has served as a member of parliament and minister for land, has now completed the legal training required to practice law. His achievement comes after years of balancing political duties with his passion for law. The Ghana Bar Association confirmed that he passed all necessary examinations and met the eligibility criteria.
This milestone follows years of dedication to legal studies, which Buah pursued alongside his political career. His entry into the legal profession adds to the growing number of public officials in Ghana who are also licensed lawyers. The government has encouraged such dual roles as a way to enhance policy-making and legal oversight.
Buah’s journey reflects a broader trend in Ghana where public servants are increasingly engaging in professional fields beyond their official roles. His case highlights the flexibility of the legal profession and the value of lifelong learning. The Ghana Bar Association has expressed pride in his achievement and hopes it inspires others to pursue similar paths.
