Canada has revised its business visitor regulations, permitting citizens from 11 countries participating in the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) to enter without a work permit under specific conditions. The update, effective immediately, simplifies travel for eligible individuals from Australia, Brunei, Chile, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore, Vietnam, and the United States.
The revised rules apply to individuals visiting for business purposes, including meetings, conferences, and short-term assignments. Travelers must still meet standard visa requirements and demonstrate sufficient financial means to support their stay. The change aims to enhance trade and economic ties by facilitating easier business travel.
This update follows a series of bilateral agreements and trade negotiations aimed at reducing barriers for international business. Canada has previously simplified visa processes for several countries, and this move aligns with broader efforts to promote cross-border collaboration. The CPTPP, which includes 11 member nations, seeks to strengthen economic integration across the Pacific region.
