After 20 editions of the Ghana Beauty Movement (GMB), five regions—Oti, Bono East, Western North, Ahafo, and North East—have yet to produce a winner. The competition, which celebrates Ghanaian beauty and culture, has seen participants from across the country, but these regions have consistently fallen short.
The GMB has been a platform for showcasing local talent and promoting regional identity through beauty. Despite numerous participants from these regions, none have managed to secure the title. Officials from the GMB organization have acknowledged the gap but noted that the competition remains open and ongoing.
The competition began in 2004 with the aim of highlighting Ghanaian beauty and fostering national pride. Over the years, it has become a significant cultural event, drawing attention to regional diversity and talent. The absence of winners from these five regions has sparked discussions about representation and opportunities for aspiring contestants.
While the GMB continues to attract participants from various parts of the country, the lack of regional representation remains a point of interest. The competition is expected to continue as a platform for emerging talent, with hopes that future editions may see these regions finally claim a title.
