A Ghanaian man has been sentenced to eight years in prison for sexually assaulting a woman in the UK. Evans Nyarko, 32, was convicted by a jury at Aylesbury Crown Court in 2026 after he admitted to sexually assaulting a woman he had offered to help home. The court heard that Nyarko approached the woman in a public area and, after offering assistance, forced her into a vehicle and committed the assault.
The case came to light after the victim reported the incident to police. During the trial, Nyarko pleaded guilty to the charge of sexual assault. The prosecution argued that the attack was a serious violation of the victim’s autonomy and safety. The judge described the act as a “gross breach of trust” and emphasized the need for a strong sentence to reflect the severity of the crime.
This case highlights ongoing concerns about sexual offenses in the UK, particularly those involving individuals from abroad. Authorities have reiterated the importance of holding offenders accountable regardless of their nationality. Nyarko’s conviction underscores the legal system’s commitment to justice in cases of sexual violence. The sentence is expected to serve as a deterrent to similar offenses.
