Four Ghanaian nationals, including Kofi Boat, Pascal, Arrangement, and Lancaster, have pleaded guilty to drug trafficking charges in a US court and face up to 20 years in prison. The group, also including Dada Joe, admitted to conspiring to import and distribute narcotics, leading to their sentencing. The court ordered them to pay restitution and forfeit assets linked to the illegal activities.

The case stems from a joint investigation by US and Ghanaian authorities, which uncovered a smuggling operation involving large quantities of narcotics. The defendants were arrested in 2022 during a raid on a suspected drug trafficking hub in Accra. Their guilty pleas were accepted as part of a plea bargain, which included financial penalties and cooperation with the investigation.

This is not the first time Ghanaian nationals have been implicated in international drug trafficking. Previous cases have highlighted the challenges of cross-border drug enforcement and the role of local networks in facilitating illicit trade. The current case underscores the increasing collaboration between US and Ghanaian law enforcement to combat transnational drug crimes.
