Ghana’s national power company, ECG, has announced five-day power cuts across four regions starting October 26. The affected areas include Tema, Greater Accra, Volta, Eastern and Ashanti. The outages are scheduled to last up to eight hours each day.
The power cuts are part of routine maintenance and fault correction work. ECG has provided a detailed schedule of the outages, which will impact both residential and commercial areas. The company has urged residents and businesses to prepare for the disruptions.
This is the second time ECG has announced large-scale power cuts this year. Similar outages were scheduled in March, affecting the same regions. The frequency of such disruptions has raised concerns among residents and local authorities. ECG has not yet provided an estimated timeline for improved service restoration.
