Manhyia South MP Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah was released on bail after appearing before the Economic and Organised Crime Office on Thursday, October 1. The MP faced allegations tied to SIC Savings and Loans.
Awuah spent the night in custody before being granted bail. The conditions of his release were described as strict. The EOCO questioned him for over an hour during the initial stage of the investigation.
The Economic and Organised Crime Office has since conducted searches at Awuah’s office and residence. These searches are part of a broader probe into alleged financial misconduct. No formal charges have been filed yet.
The investigation follows reports of irregularities linked to the SIC Savings and Loans institution. Awuah has not publicly commented on the allegations. The EOCO has not provided further details on the scope of the inquiry.
This is the second time Awuah has been linked to financial scrutiny. Previous investigations focused on his handling of public funds. The current case remains under active review.
